WC Qualiafication, CAF: Angola v Cameroon kick off, prediction and team news

Angola welcome Cameroon to Estadio 11 de Novembro on Tuesday with the possibility of leapfrogging the visitors in CAF World Cup qualifying Group D.

Both sides recorded victories in their last qualifying games and will be looking to take the momentum into this encounter.

African qualifications for the World Cup should be very interesting, as only the first from each group will secure a place in the main tournament. In group D, Cameroon, as the major favorite, is first with seven points from three matches. Their next opponent, Angola, could compete for second place, giving them another chance in the playoff.

Angola haven’t played well lately. They were on a run of three games without a victory until the last match, when they won 1-0 at home against Eswatini. Neither team impressed in that game, but the home side scored early in the game and was able to secure all three points. Angola are a solid team, but they need to win points constantly to keep pace with Cameroon.

Although Cameroon won only two of the last seven matches, they still should be considered as the best team in this group. In the previous game, Cameroon won 4-1 at home against Cape Verde. Many thought that Cape Verde could be the team that could challenge Cameroon for the top position in the group, but the home team’s efficiency was off the charts, so Marc Brys’ team picked up a win that will mean a lot for the team’s confidence.

Angola vs Cameroon Predictions

Angola climbed to third in Group D after their latest victory and have a solid record against their opponents at home. Cameroon bounced back to their best last weekend, but their away form has not been the best lately. A BTTS draw is predicted between the two nations.
