Manchester United are arguably the biggest club in England and have huge expectations. However, just like in previous seasons, they have fallen away short of where their fans expect them to be. Matters on the pitch have been disappointing and inconsistent, and there is nothing much to play for between now and the end of the season in the league.
United, though, have progressed to the final of the FA Cup where they will take on city rivals Manchester City. It was not easy, though for the Red Devils. They were 3-0 up against Coventry City in the semi-finals this past weekend before letting their opponents make it 3-3. The former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners had to win the tie on penalties.
Erik ten Hag’s side are eighth in the Premier League table at the moment with 54 points from 36 matches. United are three points behind Newcastle United and Chelsea, who are sixth and seventh respectively in the standings. Interestingly, Manchester United will face Newcastle at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Wednesday evening.
